KICKING OFF PAST PIGS DAY WITH GOLDEN OLDIES
Before a whistle was blown in anger, the afternoon kicked off in true Jindabyne fashion with the first annual Past Pigs Day celebrations honouring former players and the generations who built Jindabyne Rugby into what it is today, with specific focus on the 30 year anniversary of the 1996 premiership winning Bushpigs, the 20 year anniversary of the 2006 premiership winning Bushpis, and 20 years of Miss Piggies Rugby
First up, Golden Oldies players assembled for a BBQ breaky at JJ Connors Oval before taking to the field in a combined Soar Boars & Sore Sows team against ACT Vets rugby. In an entertaining match filled with plenty of tries, the final result was the obligatory 9-all draw.
Celebrations then headed to the Banjo Paterson Inn for the Reunion Roast lunch, featuring special guest Matt To’omua and the draw of 2026 Jersey Number Sponsors.
Women’s 10s: Wildbrumby Schnapps Miss Piggies 62 defeated Yass Ewes 7
The Miss Piggies set the tone for the afternoon with an emphatic 62–7 demolition of the Yass Ewes in the Women’s 10s, a result that was never in doubt from the opening exchanges.
Eden Klemm was the standout performer, bagging five tries and six conversions, her scoring spread consistently across both halves to reflect her total dominance of the contest. The Miss Piggies were relentless – tries came in quick succession, barely giving the Yass Ewes a moment to regroup or find any attacking rhythm.
Even when Yass broke through for a consolation try (scored by a very familiar player!), Jindabyne responded almost immediately, reasserting control and making it clear the result was never in question. Clinical, composed, and ruthlessly efficient — the Miss Piggies look every bit a team setting the standard in the competition.

Men’s XVs: Banjo Paterson Inn Bushpigs 48 defeated Yass Rams 5
If the Women’s result sent a message, the Bushpigs’ 48–5 dismantling of the Yass Rams hammered it home.
Harry Watson wasted no time, crossing for the first try within three minutes of kick-off and setting the tone for everything that followed. Jackson Stewart and Darcy Alexander both crossed in the opening quarter, building a platform that Yass simply had no answer to.
But it was the second half — and particularly the final twenty minutes — where Jindabyne truly showed their depth. Four tries in the closing stages, including impactful contributions from bench players like Charlie Klemm, underlined the squad’s ability to maintain intensity and punish tired defences long after lesser teams would have eased off. The Bushpigs’ defensive line was equally impressive, suffocating any Yass attacking ambition and restricting the visitors to a solitary try for the afternoon.
