Away Round for Jindabyne Rugby
Saturday 23 May saw Jindabyne sides making the trip away. The Bushpigs headed out across the Southern Tablelands, while the U12 Piglets made the drive up to Griffith Oval in Canberra. Here’s how each side got on.
Men’s: Bushpigs 24 – Bungendore Mudchooks 26
The Bushpigs went down by two points to Bungendore at Bungendore Sports Hub in Round 7 of the Southern Tablelands Monaro Cup a tight, physical contest decided in the margins.
Jackson Stewart (#10 – Macleod Trucking), Hunter Pearce (#13 – Porter’s Power), and Finn Chatten (#14 – SJ&LM Contracting) all crossed the line for the Bushpigs, while Mathew Peterson (#12 – Jindabyne Butchery) was reliable with the boot, landing three conversions and a penalty to keep Jindabyne in the contest throughout. The Bushpigs applied pressure until the final whistle, but couldn’t quite close the gap.
The two-point loss is a setback in the context of the competition, but this was a game that showed what the group is capable of at their best. The moments that cost them will be reviewed this week. The Bushpigs remain second on the ladder and with Cooma away next Saturday, there’s an immediate opportunity to respond.

Women’s 10s: Miss Piggies 36 – Braidwood Redbacks 5
The Wildbrumby Schnapps Miss Piggies made it six wins from six with a commanding 36–5 victory over the Braidwood Redbacks at Braidwood Recreation Ground, extending their unbeaten run through the full 2026 season.
Tilhaney Grainger (#5 – Reece) was again the standout, crossing three times to take her try-scoring form into another week. Bernadette Lai (#9 – Snowy Mountains Magazine) and Alice Clarke (#13 – Porter’s Power) each added a try, with captain Eden Klemm (#10 – Macleod Trucking) also crossing the line and finishing with three conversions from the tee. The Miss Piggies were in control throughout, with the result never in doubt after a strong opening period.
The win keeps the Miss Piggies clear at the top of the Country Conference ladder heading into a rematch with Cooma Devils Angels this Saturday, a side they beat 20–15 at home in Round 6.

U15s: A Tough Day at Marist
The U15 Boys went down 0–78 to Marist U15 Royal at Marist College on Saturday. Back-to-back heavy losses are a difficult run for any junior side, but this group continues to show up and compete, and that counts for something at this stage of the season.
The experience gained in these games will matter as the year progresses. The coaches and supporters remain right behind them.
U12 Piglets: 24 – 21 Over Easts Juniors: Top of the Table
The Piglets held their nerve to edge Easts Juniors 24–21 at Griffith Oval in what was a genuine top-of-the-table contest in the ACTJRU Under 12 Div 2.
Rory crossed twice to lay the foundation for the win, with Patrick adding the third try to give Jindabyne a lead to defend. Leo was steady with the boot, converting twice to keep the scoreboard ticking. Easts pushed hard right through to the final whistle, but Jindabyne’s defence held firm when it needed to.
The Piglets sit top of the ACTJRU Under 12 Div 2 ladder, undefeated through four games with 12 points and a points differential of +90. The top of the table is close, games in hand and points differential will matter as the season progresses.
