It was a simply stunning day at JJ Connors Oval on Saturday: perfect conditions, a big crowd and a perfect 2 from 2 result from our senior teams to book spots in their respective grand finals – the first time such a feat has been achieved in the club’s history.
For the junior teams, valiant efforts showing real character on the road, as both battled depleted numbers due to illness and injuries.
BANJO PATERSON INN BUSHPIGS 31 – COOMA RED DEVILS 15
The Banjo Paterson Inn Bushpigs produced a composed and determined finals performance to defeat the Cooma Red Devils 31–15 at JJ Connors Oval, booking their place in the 2026 Grand Final.
There was plenty of history between the two sides after Cooma edged Jindabyne 39–38 in their previous meeting. The Bushpigs turned the tables on Saturday, controlling territory and possession to establish a lead they never relinquished.
Cooma opened the scoring with a penalty goal, but Jindabyne responded when Finn Chatten (#14 – SJ & LM Contracting) crossed in the 20th minute. Harry Burbury (#15 – Studio 22 Jindabyne) added another try shortly afterwards, sending the Bushpigs into halftime with a 10–3 lead.
Jindabyne resumed with the same intensity after the break. Burbury crossed for his second try in the 41st minute before Dylan Johnson (#10 – Macleod Trucking) added the conversion.
Chatten completed his double in the 51st minute, finishing a coast-to-coast attacking movement sparked by an outstanding run from Hunter Pearce (#13 – Porters Power). Matt Jones (#4 – High Country Plumbing & Gas) then powered over near the posts in the 56th minute, with Johnson’s accurate kicking helping the Bushpigs extend their advantage to 31–3.
Cooma scored two late tries to reduce the final margin, but the Bushpigs had already done enough to secure an emphatic 31–15 victory and a place in the decider.
The Bushpigs will face the Bungendore Mudchooks in the Grand Final at 2:30pm on Saturday 8 August at Bungendore Sports Hub.

WILDBRUMBY SCHNAPPS MISS PIGGIES 43 – EASTS WOMEN’S 10S 12
The Wildbrumby Schnapps Miss Piggies continued their outstanding season with a commanding 43–12 finals victory over Easts Women’s 10s at JJ Connors Oval.
Having already secured the minor premiership, the Miss Piggies entered the finals determined to convert their consistent regular-season form into a place in the Grand Final. They did exactly that, running in seven tries and controlling the contest from the opening exchanges.
Tilhaney Grainger led the scoring with an outstanding four-try performance. Bernadette Lai, Eden Klemm and Lily Godding also crossed, while Klemm added four conversions to finish with 13 points.
The Miss Piggies’ speed, support play and ability to turn possession into points proved too much for Easts. Although the visitors crossed twice, Jindabyne remained firmly in control and completed an emphatic 31-point victory.
The Miss Piggies will now face the Cooma Devils Angels in the Grand Final at 1:15pm on Saturday 8 August at Bungendore Sports Hub.

JINDABYNE U15 19 – DARAMALAN U15 RED 51
The Jindabyne U15s continued to compete throughout a challenging away match against a well-organised Daramalan U15 Red side, eventually going down 51–19.
Jindabyne crossed for three tries through Tynan, Logan and Benji, with Tynan also adding two conversions to finish as the team’s leading point scorer with nine points.
The match also featured two important individual milestones. Zollie (#8) played his 50th game for the club—an outstanding achievement reflecting his commitment over several seasons—while Lachlan (#13) made his U15 debut.
While the result did not fall Jindabyne’s way, the team’s willingness to keep competing and create scoring opportunities provided positives to carry into the closing stages of the season.

JINDABYNE U12 5 – ST EDMUNDS U12 WHITE 65
The Jindabyne U12s faced one of the leading teams in their competition on Saturday, going down 65–5 to St Edmunds U12 White in a difficult away fixture.
St Edmunds applied sustained pressure and showed why they have been among the strongest teams in the grade this season. Despite the scoreboard, Jindabyne continued to work hard for one another and was rewarded with a try.
The young Bushpigs kept competing through a challenging contest, gaining valuable experience against high-quality opposition. The club remains proud of the determination shown by every player who took the field.
