The Lake Jindabyne Hotel has renewed its long-term sponsorship of the Jindabyne Rugby Union Club until at least the end of 2023.

The three year commitment will extend the Lake Jindabyne Hotel’s position as the Club’s major partner to 11 years, having commenced its support of Jindabyne’s  local rugby union club in 2012.

The sponsorship includes naming rights to the club’s Men’s team, the Lake Jindabyne Hotel Bushpigs.

Lake Jindabyne Hotel Managing Director Garth Riley and Jindabyne Rugby Union Club President Chris Marshall announced the sponsorship ahead of the team’s first round fixture, against Crookwell in Crookwell on Saturday 17 April.

Mr Riley said the new arrangement, from 2021-23, will help the club and sport of rugby union to thrive in the region.

“The Lake Jindabyne Hotel and our staff are proud to be part of the Jindabyne Rugby Union Club family and to extend our commitment to the club and the sport, despite the challenging circumstances of 2020 and uncertainty of what’s ahead in the hospitality sector.”

“We value this partnership and to supporting this club that has a positive impact on so many local families.”

Jindabyne Rugby Union Club President Chris Marshall said the decision to continue with Lake Jindabyne Hotel as its major partner was an easy one.

“The Lake Jindabyne Hotel is a wonderful home-base for our club members to come together.”

“The hotel and its staff have been fantastic supporters of ours for so many years and we look forward to that continuing through to our 40th anniversary celebrations in 2023.”

Mr Riley said a large part of Lake Jindabyne Hotel’s sponsorship is its ongoing support of Jindabyne Rugby Union Club’s fundraising efforts.

“The Bushpigs’ Friday raffles are a great way for our patrons to kick off a weekend, and a great way for them to raise funds throughout the season and beyond.”

“We enjoy supporting these with our iconic Joker Poker Jackpot promotion where patrons can potentially win up to $10,000.”

“We’re also proud to provide the Bushpigs with a family-friendly place to host their events such as junior and senior presentation night celebrations.”

The sponsorship is an important one for Jindabyne Rugby Union Club, as it seeks to provide families from Jindabyne and the surrounding region with a year-round health and fitness solution, fielding junior and senior rugby union teams for men, women, girls and boys throughout winter and mixed touch football competitions throughout spring, summer and autumn.

Jindabyne Rugby Union Club enjoyed its biggest season in 2020 despite all the challenges of the global pandemic, fielding seven junior teams from Under 10s to Under 16s, plus Miss Piggies Women’s team and the Lake Jindabyne Hotel Bushpigs men’s team who were grand finalists.

New players of all ages and abilities are welcome to join Jindabyne Rugby Union Club for the 2021 season. Visit www.bushpigs.rugby for details.

The Lake Jindabyne Hotel Bushpigs first home match of the season is on Saturday 24 April, when they’ll take on Taralga Tigers in a rematch of the 2020 Grand Final.

Lake Jindabyne Hotel is open seven days a week for lunch and dinner. Lakefront accommodation is available year-round, with Queen, and Family rooms perfect for summer and winter holidays.
