Jindabyne U15 Piglets Into Finals Action Against Daramalan Red

Jindabyne’s U15 Piglets head to Canberra this weekend for a finals match against Daramalan U15 Red, with kick-off set for 10:50am on Saturday 22 August at Gowrie District Playing Fields (Vikings Juniors 102).

The Piglets finished second on the ladder, with 8 wins from 11 outings after the competition was regraded. Third-placed Daramalan U15 Red will provide a stern test; the two clubs already know each other well from two clashes earlier in the season. The winner will proceed to the big dance on Saturday 5 September at Vikings Park, against the winner of Grammar U15s (1st) vs St Edmunds White (4th).

Season Form and the Daramalan History

Jindabyne and Daramalan U15 Red have already met twice in 2026, with a result apiece. Jindabyne won the first meeting 31–26 at home back in Round 6, a tight affair that went down to the wire. Daramalan turned the tables in Round 10, winning 51–19 on their own patch. That head-to-head split sets up Saturday’s match as the decider between the two sides for the season, and the Piglets will be looking to draw on the composure that got them over the line in June.

Since that Round 10 loss, Jindabyne have bounced back strongly. Despite being beaten by Minor Premiers Grammar the following week, they responded with a convincing 59–22 win over St Edmunds U15s White in their most recent outing on 15 August. That result, along with wins over Royals (55–17) and Marist (52–27) earlier in the block, shows a squad capable of scoring heavily when it clicks — exactly the kind of firepower they’ll need if Saturday turns into another shootout.

Supporters heading to Canberra should get to Gowrie District Playing Fields in good time for the 10:50am kick-off — it’s a fair drive from Jindabyne, and an early start on Vikings Juniors 102. Get there early, back the Piglets loudly, and help push this young squad through to the next stage of the finals series.
