Jindabyne’s junior grades are back at home this Saturday, 15 August 2026, with the U12s and U15s both taking on St Edmunds at JJ Connors Oval. The U12 clash kicks off at 10:30am against St Edmunds U12s Blue, followed by the U15s hosting St Edmunds U15s White at 11:30am. It’s Round 12 for both grades – and with no further fixtures currently scheduled beyond this weekend, it looks set to be the final regular-season round before finals begin, making it an important last chance to build momentum heading into September.
U12: Jindabyne Piglets vs St Edmunds U12s Blue – 10:30am
Jindabyne Piglets U12s sit fifth on the ACTJRU U12 Div 1 ladder after seven rounds, with one win to date this season. St Edmunds U12s Blue arrive undefeated, sitting top of the table with eleven wins from eleven starts and a commanding points differential of +411.
Recent results have been tough for the young Piglets. They went down 31-19 to Wests U12s last Saturday, were beaten 65-5 by St Edmunds U12s White the week before, and lost 32-38 to Easts Juniors U12 in Round 9 – a tight contest that showed the side can compete when they hold the ball. This weekend’s opponent is a familiar one too: St Edmunds U12s Blue beat Jindabyne 59-19 back in Round 7, so there’s history to draw on heading into the rematch.
Marshall Pirozzi has been a standout with ball in hand across the season, sitting among the club’s leading try-scorers with six tries from his appearances, and will again be one to watch through the middle. The emphasis for the Piglets this week is building on the fight shown against Easts – staying in the contest for the full 60 minutes and giving the home crowd something to cheer at JJ Connors Oval as they close out the regular season.
U15: Jindabyne Piglets vs St Edmunds U15s White – 11:30am
The U15s head into Round 12 in a much stronger position, sitting second on the ACT U15 Gold ladder with five wins from seven rounds and a healthy +19 points differential. St Edmunds U15s White sit fourth with four wins from eleven, giving Jindabyne the clear form advantage on paper.
It’s been a mixed run of late for the Piglets. They were beaten 43-0 by Grammar last weekend and 51-19 by Daramalan Red the round before, but bounced back strongly with a 55-17 win over Royals in Round 9. Against this weekend’s opponent specifically, Jindabyne have the wood – they beat St Edmunds U15s White 33-14 back in Round 7, and will be looking to repeat that result at home and finish the regular season on a high.
Zollie Gravenor has just brought up his 50th game for the club, a solid milestone worth recognising as the side prepares for finals. Cedric Bradley and Benji Carling have both been consistent contributors with four tries apiece this season, and both will be looking to add to that tally in front of the home crowd.
