The Spring 7’s competition Brumbies are running in October. The key focus for this competition is on Junior Girls (13-18 years), however, similar with what occurred last year, we are looking at including a Senior Womens division.
The competition will run over 4 consecutive Saturday’s in October (10th, 17th, 24th, 31st). Depending on your interest and prior commitments, we can have the women’s division run in conjunction with this each week, or it could be run over two weeks only.
We are looking at also trying to bring up a team or two from our Southern Inland competition to compete. To reduce the travel for these teams, they may only be involved in two of the four week competition, but we will adjust draw/results accordingly.
As with last year, the cost will be minimal for teams. At the moment we are looking at approx $50 per team, however, this will need to be confirmed by our competition insurer.
If you are interested in putting a team in please let me know. Also, if you have any preferences or aversions to particular weeks of the competition this will also be helpful. Given it is 7’s there isn’t too high a demand to get playing numbers each week. As such, this competition could have a womens division of 6-8 teams, which would look great for Women’s rugby in the ACT. This competition also leads into the Brumbies rep 7’s season and is a great opportunity for some players to get spotted.
