MISS PIGGIES CROWNED GRAND FINAL CHAMPIONS
In a nail-biting showdown at the Bungendore Sports Hub, the Jindabyne Miss Piggies made history — claiming their first-ever Premiership with a thrilling 31–24 victory over fierce Snowy Monaro rivals, the Cooma Devil’s Angels.
From the opening whistle, Jindabyne came out firing with tries from Bernie Lai (x2), Eden Klemm, and Sarah Farrell. The match-winning moment came when Lily Godding broke through the line for a stunning runaway try, sealing the title. Their attacking structure was sharp, finding gaps in Cooma’s defence and finishing with confidence, while three crucial conversions kept them in front in a tense contest.
Cooma fought back hard after trailing 26–5, with the Miss Piggies’ discipline tested in the second half. But, as they’ve done all season, the girls held their nerve, stayed calm under pressure, and finished the job.
When the final whistle blew, the scoreboard told the story: Jindabyne 31, Cooma 24 — seven points and one Grand Final trophy separating the sides. The win caps off a perfect, undefeated season, built on teamwork, resilience, and an unshakable belief in each other
