Qualifying Finals arrives for the Banjo Paterson Inn Bushpigs this Saturday, while the Wildbrumby Schnapps Miss Piggies enjoy a well-earned bye as Minor Premiers. The junior sides also return to JJ Connors Oval after the school break.
BANJO PATERSON INN BUSHPIGS VS BUNGENDORE MUDCHOOKS — QUALIFYING FINALS
The Bushpigs head to Bungendore for the Qualifying Final, having finished the regular season second on the ladder with 11 wins from 14 games and 59 competition points.
Bungendore sealed the Minor Premiership last weekend, beating Cooma 36–27. It has been a strong season from both sides, and Saturday’s match carries significant weight, the winner progresses directly to host the Grand Final on 8 August, while the loser gets a second chance in the Preliminary Final the following week.
The head-to-head record between these two sides in 2026 makes for interesting reading. Bungendore won two of the three regular season meetings. However, the Bushpigs turned that around in the most recent clash, winning 31–24 at Bungendore Sports Hub just a fortnight ago.
Leading the Bushpigs into finals is Finn Chatten, who finishes the regular season as the side’s top try-scorer with 15 tries in 2026, a consistent performer who will be central to the Bushpigs’ attack on Saturday.

JUNIORS
Both junior sides are back at JJ Connors Oval on Saturday after the school break.
The U12 Piglets kick off at 10:00 am against Easts Juniors U12, who are yet to record a win this season and sit bottom of the ladder. The Piglets claimed a hard-fought 26–24 win over Wests earlier in the year and will be looking to build on that result. This is a chance to put points on the board and grow some confidence going into the back end of the season.
The U15s follow at 11:00 am against Royals U15s, coming in off three straight wins — 52–27 over Marist, 33–14 over St Edmunds White, and 31–26 over Daramalan. The boys have been sharp across those results and will bring plenty of confidence against Royals. Get down to JJ Connors and support both sides.
