Two Bushpigs sides take the field this Saturday across three venues, with the 1st XV hosting at JJ Connors Oval and the Miss Piggies making the long trip to Griffith for a double-header at Gala Day 3. Here’s what to expect.
BANJO PATERSON INN BUSHPIGS VS BUNGENDORE MUDCHOOKS
The Bushpigs are home at JJ Connors Oval this Saturday, kicking off at 2:30 pm in Round 13 against the Bungendore Mudchooks.
Last week in Cooma was a tough one — the Bushpigs went down 39–38 in a game that was there for the taking. Finn Chatten and Henry Earl crossed early, Hunter Pearce and Brock Freeburn (two tries) kept the scoreboard moving, but the Red Devils held on by a single point. The week before, the lads ran over Yass 52–17 at home, and before that put up 49 against ADFA Lions. Form is there. The squad knows what it can do.
Chatten leads all-grades try-scoring this season with 14 tries from 13 games. Pearce is right behind him with 11 tries from 13 — both players are finishing at a rate that makes this side dangerous at home. Chatten is also five games from his 50th career appearance for the club. Will Harris and Wylie Vernon are each one game from their 25th — another reason Saturday counts for more than just four competition points.

WILDBRUMBY SCHNAPPS MISS PIGGIES VS UNI-NORTH OWLS & GOULBURN DIRTY REDS
The Miss Piggies travel to Griffith for Women’s 10s Gala Day 3, with two games on Saturday — 10:30 am against Uni-North Owls, then back up at 1:00 pm against the Goulburn Dirty Reds, both at Griffith Oval.
The Piggies are in exceptional form. Last round they knocked over Braidwood 36–25, with Eden Klemm bagging two tries, Tilhaney Grainger crossing three times, and Hibberd adding another. Earlier in the season: 54–0 against Hall, 55–14 against Easts, 38–0 against Bungendore. This is a side that has not let up all season.
Klemm leads the all-grades try-scoring chart with 23 tries — a remarkable return. Grainger has 17 tries and is two games from her 25th career appearance. Two games on the day means plenty of opportunity for both milestones and more points on the board.
