Four Jindabyne teams take the field this Saturday, all at JJ Connors Oval. Two of them are in finals football, and all four have something to play for. It’s a great week to get out and support wherever you can.
BANJO PATERSON INN BUSHPIGS VS COOMA RED DEVILS — PRELIMINARY FINALS
The Bushpigs host Cooma in a Preliminary Final at 2:30 pm at JJ Connors Oval. After last weekend’s loss to Bungendore, the stakes are clear: win and stay alive in the premiership race, lose and the season is over.
The good news is the form coming into finals has been solid. Before the Bungendore setback, the Bushpigs beat Yass 31–24 in Round 14 — a composed away performance that showed what this group is capable of when it matters. Cooma are a known quantity after two head-to-head clashes already this year. Jindabyne won the first 36–14 in Round 8, but Cooma came back hard and won 39–38 in Round 12. Saturday’s final will be close, and it will go down to the last ten minutes.
Finn Chatten continues to be the standout — 15 tries and just four games away from his 50th career appearance. Dylan Johnson drives the scoreboard with 59 points this season, primarily off the boot. The experience throughout the squad — Will Harris, Harry Burbury, Joe Quinlan, Matt Jones, Billy Small — will matter in a one-off final.

WILDBRUMBY SCHNAPPS MISS PIGGIES VS EASTS WOMEN’S 10s — QUALIFYING FINALS
The Miss Piggies host Easts in finals football at 12:30 pm at JJ Connors Oval. This is a rematch — Jindabyne beat Easts 55–14 at Gala Day 2 earlier this season — and the Miss Piggies come into this one in genuine form.
A 43–0 win over Yass in Round 14 was a statement performance. Before that, back-to-back wins over Braidwood and Cooma Devils Angels showed the depth and consistency of this group all year. Eden Klemm is the standout player of the entire club — 21 tries and 179 points across 28 appearances, both club-leading figures. Tilhaney Grainger adds 14 tries, and Carlie French and Bernadette Lai provide real punch across the park. Montana Hawkins and Lily Godding have started every game this season.
Three Miss Piggies — Chellsea Gannon, Claire Dyball, and Dakoda Smith — have just brought up their 25-game career milestones. Finals week is a fitting time to be adding to those tallies.
Kick-off is 12:30 pm. Get to JJ Connors Oval early, make a day of it, and back the girls from the first whistle.

JUNIORS
Both junior sides play at home at JJ Connors Oval on Saturday. The U12 Piglets kick off at 10:00 am against St Edmunds U12s White, who sit second on the ladder with a strong record. The Piglets bounced back with a 26–24 win over Wests in Round 6 and will need that same resilience against a quality opponent. Patrick, Leo, Rory, Marshall, William, Sergio, and Digby have been consistent starters all year.
The U15s follow at 10:30 am against Daramalan Red. This group is in excellent form — three straight wins before Saturday, most recently a 55–17 thrashing of Royals in Round 9. Zollie is sitting on 49 career appearances, just one game away from a half-century of club rugby. The whole squad will be willing him over the line on Saturday.
