At Saturday night’s 40th Anniversary Gala Dinner, Jindabyne Rugby Club marked the occasion by inducting two new life members: Nicole Raine & Jake Roarty.
Jake becomes our 17th life member with Nicole our 18th and first female to be selected.
Both people have made significant contributions to Jindabyne Rugby Union Club over the last 20 years.
Here’s what each new inductee had to say about the honour:
Nicole Raine
“I’m extremely humbled to be the first female in the 40 years of Jindabyne Rugby’s history to receive the honour of Life Membership. I thank the 16 JRUC Life Members before Jake & I for the privilege of being acknowledged in such a special way for our dedication to this club, and I look forward to continuing to strive for excellence in the Green & Black.”
Jake Roarty
“I can’t even begin to describe what it feels like to have been acknowledged by this club and its life members to become the 17th life member. I’m not afraid to say I shed a tear or two of pride standing in front of some of my favourite people to accept it. Having poured the last 20 years of my life into the Bushpigs I couldn’t be more humbled to join a group I have looked up to for so long. This club is a community, for the community and it gives me huge pleasure knowing I will forever be associated with it.”
We couldn’t think of more deserving club members to receive this accolade. Join us in congratulating Nicole and Jake on their dedication, hard work, and all the blood, sweat and tears they have put into our club over the many years.
